The "boys" playroom

I have been so excited about this project. I'm

having a hard time fitting it in to my busy schedule

but when I can I am loving it!!!!

Here is a picture of the absolutely adorable

window "mistreatment" that I made.
I loooove them!!! I took a $6 table runner, glued
the cutest little green pom-pom fringe on the bottom,
and hung some $4 sheets behind it and VOILA!!!!
SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! (If I do say so
myself!)
A big THANK YOU goes out to Ashley for helping me
pick out the fringe!!!
There are so many things I want to do in this room.
I'll update as I get them done!!

TIME FLIES..........
(wrote this a week ago and forgot to post...hehehehehehe)

I've been told that it has been way too long

since my last post:) Its true! I know, this little

thing called life just keeps getting in the way!!!!!!!!

The past few months have been pretty crazy around

here, getting ready for school and then the really

big news... I have gone back to work. yep, tis true!!!

Tonight will be my 3rd night back. I am actually

enjoying it, but it is only my 3rd night back:)
Enough about that, Im sure Ill have more to say

about that a different time.

Back to the kids, they (James and Brandon)

started school on Monday, then stayed home on

Tuesday(because of T.S. Fay), went to school

Wed and Thurs. and stayed home today.

The kids didnt mind a bit, but it reeked

havoc on mom and dads schedule. ya know

sitting around relaxing, eatin bonbons!!

I wish!!!

Oh yeah- for those of you who may not know

Jason is officially a stay home dad!!!
He has been home since May. We decided that both

of us would stay home with the kids through the

summer, spend lots of family time, play, relax ( he deserved it)

and then I would go back to work in the fall. And here we are!!

God is so good and so faithful. He made it possible for us

to have this wonderful summer with the kids. He provided

for our every need. I feel sooooo blessed to have been able

to stay home for the past year and a half! And then to have

3 months of Jason and I being home together was great!!

James turns 9
James turned 9 last Thursday, and his "party" lasted
for 5 days!!! My birthday is coming up, I hope I
get the same royal treatment!!!!! All joking aside
we have had a blast. We have been very busy, but
had lots of fun! The celebration started Thursday
morning with presents:

The boy is completely obsessed with The Deadliest Catch! If you ask
him what he wants to do when he grows up he will tell you he wants to
fish the Bering Sea......hopefully he will forget all about that when
he is 20. Anyway, he would watch this show from sun up to sun down
if we let him. He knows all the captains, how big each ship is, who is the
one that catches all the crab! Its crazy!!
We also got him the Mongoose bike that he wanted!
"Mom take a picture of me on the pegs!" What was I thinking??????!!!
He is already doing wheelies and jumping off curbs. And he
wants a ramp for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all the morning excitement we headed to see Mickey!

We had alot of fun. There were a ton of people there but we didnt stand
in line for more than 30 minutes for anything! Did I mention the best part
was that Titi Nicole was able to come with us!! The kids (and I) were so excited!!!
We hit all the favorites, Buzz Lightyear,

The tea cups

Barnstormers(?) I can never remembere the name of this
ride. The kids love it. Check out Ryan in this pic!!
The kid is fearless!!!!!!!!!!!

space mountain,
ryan was a HAIR away from being able to ride space mountain...
not that I would have let him!!!!!!!!! WE would have had to lie
about some age restriction or something. He was soooo sad.
He thinks he is such a big boy!

Brandon and James arrive victorious from their battle with the mountain,
space mountain that is. This was Brandon's first time!!!
Of course, we rode thunder mountain and splash mountain and every other
ride you can think of, mom just didnt take as many pics as I would have liked.
Here are just a few of the ones I did snap!

my 3 monkeys!

whatssup!!

I said I just wanted to SEE him!!(heheheh)

the birthday boy!

Daddy goofin off!

my little man

mommy's turn to goof off!
Captain Brandon!
As you can see we had a GREAT time!!
James birthday went on for 4 more days, I'll have to do
another post for that. Gotta go for now!

Game Day!!!

James and Brandon are playing on a summer football
league together. They had their best game yet, this
Saturday. James scored 2 touchdowns and Brandon scored
an extra point. It really was a great game!
I was hoping to post some video clips from
my camera. Cant figure out how to do it:(
But here are some pics of my boys.

Coach Sellers settin up the defense!!

"I got your back, bro!"

I was sooo proud of them and the rest of the boys, too!
As for Ryan, well, he just cant wait till he is out on the field with
his brothers!!!

A steal of a deal

On a whim today I stopped at a garage
sale, with all three kids, yikes!
So glad I did!
Check out what I got for $15.00!!!!

The desk and the chair: $15.00
I almost peed my pants when she said
the price. I could barely contain myself!
Cant wait to paint it and put it in the new
playroom/craft room!

IDHTBPTBB!!!!

I hope I do this right:0)
I am fairly new to blogging, as you can see this is only my 5th
post. But I just couldnt miss out of all the fun!
I am completely obsessed with the Nester's blog!!!
I was introduced to it about 2 weeks ago and have been hooked
ever since!! I feel like a crazy woman now. Cant think of
anything but what my next project might be!! I was so excited when
she announced that she wanted us to post
about our lives and our "imperfections." Couldnt
wait to show her and anyone else out there what I have
been inspired to do.

I have always wanted one of those big iron letters that
you see in potterybarn. Check this out. Paper mache
letter decopauged with the prettiest paper ever!! So much
better that plain old black.

I "mistreated" this old ottoman with some fabric I found at
Walmart!! Complete with fringe that is safety pinned to
the bottom. This girl does NOT sew!!!

After seeing the Nester's playroom blog, I convinced my
2 youngest boys to share a room. The "spare" will be a
playroom, one day. This weekend, though, we painted
their room and I did "mistreat" this window. If you look
real close you can see that I was so excited to get them up
there that i didnt even cut the tabs off the bottoms. I'll get to it:)

Here is James room (my oldest). I had some old scraps of some
camo fabric and threw it on his window with some of my new
best friends, upholstery tacks, HAHAHAHAHA!

I am telling you, I have been one busy bee!
There are many other things that I just cant wait to tackle.
Thanks Nester for showing me that it doesnt have to be perfect.
That mindset has been holding me back for sooooo long!

The funniest part is my husband has been gone since last Wednesday
and is on his way home right now!! He has no idea how busy I have been.
Cant wait for him to get here!!!!

P.S. I did want to share that I am so thankful for all the people who posted pictures of their "perfect" lives. It made me feel like I am normal. I have always felt likemy house wasnt good enough or cute enough and by no means did I ever think it was perfect. But this has really opened my eyes. My house was PERFECT all along. I was missing it!!! What a dork! It WAS perfect, because we are in it!

The voice of a child
Ok, I am such a sap. I know this is no huge
suprise to those who know me but it just had
to be said. James is on this kick of watching CMT
when he gets up in the morning. This morning
I sat on the couch and listened to my three boys
sing their little hearts out. The song was Everyday
you save me by Rascal Flatts. The video itself will
tug at your heartstrings, but sitting there listening to
them just really got to me. It was just so sweet! So precious!!
If you have never heard it, its on my playlist. I only wish
I could have recorded the boys for you. They were way
better than Rascal Flatts!!!!!!!!

Trusting GOD in the midst of pain

in the past 2 1/2 months 2 friends have gone to
be with the Lord. I just dont get it!
They both were fantastic, loving, beautiful,
christian women, mothers,sisters, daughters, friends.
They both were on fire for the Lord and
their life missions were to lead lost people
to know Christ. Why then does he take
his greatest warriors? His greatest soul
winners!! They both have beautiful families
that have been left behind. Friends who will
grieve for our loss.

I know in my heart His ways are better. His ways are higher.
But in my head the questions keep coming, WHY!!!! WHY!!!!
How could you let this happen???

I may never know or understand what he does or why He does the
things He does. Why He allows things like this to happen.
But Psalm 119:68 says "You are good, and what You do is good"
He doesnt do "wrong", He doesnt make mistakes.
Romans 8:28 says"And we know that in all things God works for
the good of those who love him..."
I wait longingly for the day I will see the good that comes from
such pain. Maybe that day will never come. I dont know.
I just have to trust Him.
Trust His word.
AND I DO!!!

Check out my Slide Show!

Brandon had his first seasick free day on the boat over Memorial Day weekend!!!
Jason, James, Brandon, Uncle Jimmy, Caleb and Grandaddy spent Saturday having a BLAST!!Can you just see the excitement on his face.
His big catch was @20lb jack. It was a monster,
according to Brandon (starting young with those
fishing stories!)
Jason and I were so afraid that he just might not have it in him to be out on the ocean.
But, thank God, he proved us wrong!!
Of course, he had a little help from some dramamine:) I dont know what we wouldhavedone if he couldnt be out there with the rest of us. But we are free and clear now!!!!

Everyone caught something that day, everyone under the age of 8 that is.
James caught a kingfish, he will be quick to tell you that this is not the
first or the biggest one he has ever caught. He is a seasoned fisherman ya know!

While the boys were all out on the open ocean, Aunt Christine, Aubrey, Grandma, Ryan and I
played at the beach and swam in the pool. Ryan and Aubrey are soooooo cute together,
they just love each other so much. They play so great. They had fun jumping over the
waves and even got me out there with them "jumping."
At the pool, Ryan was hysterical.
I had to put ear plugs in his ears b/c he had swimmers ear. The boy could not hear
a blessed thing. I would have to "YELL" at him constantly. Finally, when he would hear me,
he would just look at me and smile. I couldnt help but just laugh:)
The weekend was wonderful! We had lots of
fun and made lots of memories!!

Oh Happy Day!!!

We found out yesterday that James passed the FCAT!!!!!
Don't know the scores yet but I don't really care!!! I am sooooo
proud of the boy! Thank you to all of you who were praying for
him. God heard our prayers and once again was faithful!
We told James he could choose anywhere he wanted to go for
dinner tonight. BAD IDEA. I thought he would choose McDonalds,
Fazoli's, or maybe even Chili's. NOPE, not my boy... we are headed
to Boston Lobster Feast!! I'm looking forward to the food, just not the
bill! All kidding aside, Jason and I are so proud of James. He has
come so far from the begining of the year. He has worked his
little tail off and his hard work has paid off!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(That was from James by the way)

That was not the only exciting thing that happened yesterday!
Yes, we are a family of high achievers!! Last night was the AWANA
awards presentation at church. Brandon was nominated for Clubber
of the Year!!! Jason and I had no idea. When they called his name
both of our jaws hit the floor!
I cant even take any credit for this. He loves awanas and loves his
teachers and best of all loves Jesus!!! He blew through his first handbook
and was almost done with his workbook. He probably memorized more
scripture than I did this year!!
